United Way of Lackawanna and Wayne CountiesThe Board of The John and Helen Villaume Foundation announced that the United Way of Lackawanna and Wayne Counties was selected to receive one of the Foundation’s 2019 community grant awards. Sue Youtz, Campaign Manager for the United Way of Lackawanna and Wayne Counties, received a check in the amount of $10,000.00 from Villaume Foundation board members, Lewis J. Critelli and Rev. Edward K. Erb.

The United Way’s mission is to improve the quality of life for the people of Lackawanna and Wayne Counties by serving as a catalyst for community problem-solving. The Villaume Foundation grant will be utilized in the United Way’s Gift of Warmth Program which provides emergency heating assistance funds to families and individuals who have either exhausted their annual LIHEAP allocation or fall between earning too much to qualify for LIHEAP but too little to afford the increasing energy costs. All funds raised in Wayne County will remain designated for the residents of Wayne County. The John and Helen Villaume Foundation established by Honesdale natives, John and Helen Villaume, is dedicated to benefit charitable, religious, scientific, literary and educational programs within Wayne County. Since its inception, the Foundation has made awards totaling over $1,500,000.00 with Wayne Bank managing the account in the Wealth Management and Trust Services Division of Wayne Bank.
