Wayne Bank Supports Greater Pike Community Foundation
Honesdale, PA – Jim Donnelly, President, and Chief Executive Officer of Wayne Bank, is pleased to announce that Wayne Bank has supported the Greater Pike Community Foundation with a donation through the Educational Improvement Pre-K Program.
The mission of the Greater Pike Community Foundation is to enable generous individuals, families, and local businesses to maximize their charitable support through organized, targeted, long-term community philanthropy. Greater Pike provides a permanent and personal way to give back to the region we all love and have worked so hard to nurture and maintain.
Through the Greater Pike Community Foundation, this specific donation will support the Center for Developmental Disabilities (CDD) of Pike County. Their goal is to provide early learning educational and behavioral support to the children in their community. They are committed to serving children with developmental disabilities and delays in an education setting that meets their individual needs. They provide services to over 200 families in Pike County and offer a quality pre-kindergarten program that follows the Pennsylvania Department of Education standards and curriculum guidelines.
Executive Director of the Greater Pike Community Foundation, Jessica Zufall, Ph.D.; Vicki McCabe, Family Support Services, CDD; and Jo Ann Donnelly, Executive Director, CDD; accepted a check in the amount of $6,250 from Mr. Donnelly, along with Derek Bellinger, Vice President, Wayne Bank Mortgage Loan Sales Officer, and Madeline Portugal, Assistant Vice President, Wayne Bank Milford Community Office Manager.
“We are so pleased to make this donation to the Center for Developmental Disabilities through the Greater Pike Community Foundation. Wayne Bank is proud to support the CDD and is glad to know that through this donation, children, and families of Pike County who are in need will receive the assistance and support they require,” stated Mr. Donnelly.
A community foundation is a not-for-profit philanthropic institution created by civic volunteers for the long-term benefit of a particular geographic area. These foundations enable donors to donate assets and create a fund to support the charitable causes or community needs of their choice.
The gift was made possible as a result of the Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program offered by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, acting through the Department of Community and Economic Development.
