Honesdale, Pa – The Board of The John and Helen Villaume Foundation announced that the Wayne Pike Trails & Waterways Alliance was selected to receive one of the Foundation’s 2021 community grant awards.
Molly Rodgers, Ryanne Jennings, and Grant Genzlinger from the Wayne Pike Trails & Waterways Alliance were on hand to receive a check in the amount of $40,000.00 from Villaume Foundation board member, Jon Villaume.
The Wayne Pike Trails & Waterways Alliance is a group of volunteers who represent different organizations throughout Wayne and Pike Counties and share a vision of creating a multi-model trail system on river, land, and rail along the Lackawaxen River between Honesdale and Hawley. The Villaume grant will help fund the installation of boat ramps at 2 different access points in Wayne County, parking, dry compost rest stations, fencing, benches, and the like. The John and Helen Villaume Foundation established by Honesdale natives, John and Helen Villaume, is dedicated to benefit charitable, religious, scientific, literary and educational programs within Wayne County.
