Matthew (Matt) B. Schuermann serves as Vice President, Mortgage Loan Originator at Wayne Bank, serving customers throughout the Cooperstown and Oneonta communities.

With more than 30 years of business and mortgage lending experience, Matt is committed to helping individuals and families achieve their homeownership goals. He provides personalized mortgage solutions, carefully evaluates each borrower's needs, and guides customers through every step of the lending process with transparency, expertise, and exceptional service.

After attending Ithaca College, Matt built a successful career in mortgage banking and business development before founding Leatherstocking Group, Inc. in Cooperstown, New York. His entrepreneurial background and extensive industry knowledge allow him to deliver thoughtful financial guidance tailored to each customer's unique situation.

Matt is deeply involved in the Cooperstown community. He serves on the Cooperstown Village Planning Board, the Village Board of Trustees, and the Chamber of Commerce Board. He previously served on the Cooperstown Booster Club Board and spent six years on the Cooperstown Central School District Board, where he chaired the Finance and Facilities Committee during a major capital improvement project. He has also volunteered as a youth soccer, basketball, and Little League coach for more than 12 years.

Matt resides in Cooperstown with his wife, Maureen, and their three daughters.
