Wayne Bank Hires Matthew B. Schuermann as Vice President Mortgage Loan Originator

Honesdale, PA- Jim Donnelly, President and Chief Executive Officer of Wayne Bank, is pleased to announce the hiring of Matthew (Matt) B. Schuermann as a Vice President Mortgage Loan Originator.

In his new role, Matt will be working out of the Cooperstown and Oneonta offices, guiding individuals and families throughout the area through the home loan process. He will be responsible for evaluating loan applications, providing personalized recommendations, and ensuring a smooth and transparent lending experience from application to closing.

Matt brings with him over 30 years of business experience and mortgage expertise. After attending Ithaca College, he worked in Mortgage Banking and Business Development, and eventually founded Leatherstocking Group, Inc. in Cooperstown, NY.

Matt plays an active role in his community, holding various leadership roles throughout the Cooperstown area. He serves on the Cooperstown Village Planning Board, the Village Board of Trustees, the Chamber of Commerce Board, and contributed to the Cooperstown Booster Club Board for several years. Matt also spent six years on the Cooperstown Central School District Board, where he chaired the Finance and Facilities Committee, supporting a large capital improvement project.

He enjoys spending time in his community and with his family, volunteering as a coach in youth soccer, basketball, and little league for over 12 years. Matt resides in Cooperstown with his wife, Maureen, and their three daughters.
