Wayne Bank Promotes John Veleber to Commercial Team Leader
James O. Donnelly, President and Chief Executive Officer of Wayne Bank, is pleased to announce the promotion of John Veleber to Commercial Team Leader. In his new role, Veleber will lead the development of a commercial banking team focused on serving businesses and commercial customers throughout Sullivan County and the surrounding markets.
Veleber has been a member of Wayne Bank’s commercial banking team since 2016 and brings more than 23 years of banking experience concentrated in commercial lending and credit. Prior to banking in the Catskills and Hudson Valley, he spent 15 years on Wall Street trading interest rate and power derivatives.
“John brings a tremendous depth of experience to this role, along with a strong understanding of the businesses and communities we serve,” said Donnelly. “His knowledge of commercial lending, combined with his commitment to Sullivan County, makes him an excellent choice to lead the development of our commercial banking team in the region. We are confident that John will help us deepen existing relationships and create new opportunities to support local businesses.”
As Commercial Team Leader, Veleber will be responsible for developing and growing a team of commercial lenders who will provide businesses with expertise, responsiveness, and relationship-focused service. His leadership will help Wayne Bank strengthen its relationships with existing customers while expanding its ability to serve businesses throughout Sullivan County and beyond.
Veleber holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from Valparaiso University and is a graduate of the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at the University of Pennsylvania. He resides in Sullivan County and has been involved with several nonprofit organizations in the community.
