Wayne Bank Supports the Pocono Mountains United Way

Jim Donnelly, President and Chief Executive Officer of Wayne Bank, is pleased to announce that Wayne Bank has supported the Pocono Mountains United Way through the Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program (EITC).

Nichele Brown, Development Team Member, and Roxanne Powell, Community Impact Manager at the Pocono Mountains United Way, accepted a check in the amount of $3,000 from Barbara Medwynter, Stroud Mall Office Manager, Ryan Ehrhardt, Assistant Vice President and Commercial Lending Officer, and Cheryl Wilkerson, Monroe County Regional Manager, at Wayne Bank. This contribution will help enhance the organization's STEAM-R program and provide educational resources that inspire learning and create positive community change.

“Education has the power to open doors and create opportunities that last a lifetime," said Mr. Donnelly. "We're honored to partner with the Pocono Mountains United Way to help expand programs that encourage learning, inspire curiosity, and prepare young people for future success."

The Pocono Mountains United Way is dedicated to improving the health, education, and financial stability of every person in every community it serves. Through educational initiatives such as the STEAM-R program, Generation Next, United We Read, the SMILE in-home mentoring program, back-to-school backpack and supply distributions, kindergarten readiness resources, and other supportive services, the organization helps ensure local children have the tools they need to succeed both in and out of the classroom.

This gift was made possible because of the Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program offered by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, acting through the Department of Community and Economic Development.
