What is one financial tip every service member should know?
“The most important thing you can do is contact your local Military Family and Support Services office. They’ll help you get access to important resources like education, housing, and health care.”
How can service members build or protect their credit while deployed?
“Set up automatic payments while you’re deployed, this will help keep you on track. I also recommend taking advantage of the Service Members Civil Relief Act to add extra protection.”
What financial steps should someone take when transitioning out of the military?
“Start planning and make sure you know your benefits. There are plenty of free resources before you get out of the military that will help make your transition into civilian life easier.”
How does Wayne Bank support the military community?
“At Wayne Bank, supporting the military is a part of who we are. We do so by partnering with the GoVA Foundation, who provides free financial education assistance to military veterans and their families. We also contribute to multiple VFWs and American Legions throughout our footprint, along with providing VA Home Loans.”
What resources are available to military spouses managing finances at home?
“I used the Spouse Education and Career Opportunities Program. They helped me further my education.”
