November is National Veterans and Military Families Month, a time to recognize the service and sacrifices of our nation's veterans, active-duty service members, and their families. As Veterans Day approaches, Wayne Bank recognizes their contributions to our country and communities.

Supporting military members and their families goes beyond banking services alone. Access to financial education, trusted resources, and community partnerships can help service members and their families navigate important life transitions and plan for their financial futures.

Whether preparing for deployment, managing finances at home, or transitioning into civilian life, having the right resources can make a meaningful difference. Some important financial considerations and resources include:

• Stay on top of finances during deployment. Setting up automatic payments can help service members keep bills current and stay on track financially while away. Eligible service members should also understand the protections available through the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA).
• Plan ahead for military separation. Before transitioning to civilian life, service members should review their benefits and explore available transition resources. Military Family and Support Services offices can help connect families with education, housing, health care, and other assistance.
• Explore education and career opportunities for military spouses. The Department of Defense's Spouse Education and Career Opportunities (SECO) program provides resources to help military spouses pursue education, career development, and employment opportunities.

These resources can help military families make informed financial decisions and feel more prepared for the changes that come with military life.

How Wayne Bank Supports the Military Community

Through our partnership with the GoVA Foundation, an organization dedicated to empowering military families, we help expand access to free financial education and tools designed to meet the unique needs of the military community.
